Allow customers to book courses a as guest without creating an account#58

I am concerned that the requirement to create a password and account may be off putting for some people.

Hi Hope - the trouble is that we wouldn’t have any way to send the booker confirmation - The ‘account’ is only Name and Email - it can be very basic.
We wouldn’t be able to pass the information to you.
Perhaps the word “Account” is worrysome but it is essential for us to collect their basic details in order to service both sides of the operation.

A person CAN add a guest to their booking with just a name and no email - if that’s what you mean.

Hi Avida - I think it’s the password that is an issue in my mind. When I sell directly from my website, I do take a lot of information - name email, address, etc. It’s only the password element that I feel is a little extra step. Perhaps if this was optional? So people could choose to use a password to find all their details/save time. I can see how this would be really useful. I personally am put off by password gateways.

Ah I understand. I suppose you are not providing your website users access to any kind of dashboard. For us - all their booking info is available to them. They can send messages, cancel, see their schedule and their portfolio. So they wouldn’t have access to anything at all. Nevertheless, it is a fair request. Let’s keep it in our backlog!

We could say - If you checkout as a Guest you will not be able to use Eequ to send messages, request cancellations or refunds, see your schedule or your Portfolio of learning. If you book any other learning with Eequ you will need to add all your details again.

Yes, exactly re a dashboard. Mine is just a shop. :)

I understand if users are regularly accessing that stuff, it really does apply. I’m not sure that it fits with adults looking for a single day out rather than a programme they’d want to track. Your message suggestion might imply that refunds and cancellations can’t be had without access to schedules and portfolios of learning. If these could be separated, then I think that would be ideal.

Of course, I don’t have an indepth awareness of the programming, so this may be a monumental ask!

Very impressed with your prompt response :) Thank you!
