Prevent cancellations after a cut of time#158

To stop parents cancelling themselves the night before or the morning of a session begining without making direct contact - eg a phone call.
We had a number of parents cancel at the last minture it, but it leaves us no opportunity to rebook anyone on and then makes our booking figures look worse than they are for HAF analysis. If they call us to cancel less than 5 days before the session we have a chance to contact those on our waiting lists.

If they cancel at short notice they are a non attender, not a cancellation.

Hello Frank. We have discussed this issue during our council meetings and we won’t be taking this route. We provide councils with a breakdown of which parents cancelled late and which cancelled in good time. Most councils will pay for late cancellations.

We will always categorise someone who cancels as ‘cancelled’ as this is more accurate and we need to distinguish clearly between this and a non attender for safeguarding reasons.

In the future, we will work towards providing you with the clear breakdown that the councils see. I think that will give you more reassurance and clarity.
